Tuning into Change Manifesto was developed by young people from around the world as a timely, passionate statement about the essential role of the arts in transforming society. Written by 42 young people aged 14-25 from across the UK and Los Angeles, CA who took part in the Barbican Guildhall Creative Learning project "Tuning into Change," the manifesto is a response to the Barbican's 2018 season The Art of Change, which explores how artists respond to, reflect and potentially effect change in the current social and political landscape. It was developed over 6 months of brainstorming ideas around what the arts can offer young people, and the role that young artists hope to play in creating lasting change in our uncertain world.
