2020 Conference in NYC

The National Guild’s 83rd Annual Conference for Community Arts Education will be held in New York City from November 18th-November 21st, 2020. The Conference will be hosted by community sites across the metro area, centering the organizations, artists, neighborhoods, and spaces that make the NYC creative ecology uniquely vibrant.

The 5x5 Series: Engaging the NYC Arts Education Community

Note: in response to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Guild is taking a pause on these events for the time being, and reconsidering how our engagement around these topics will look moving forward.

To inform our planning process, between November 2019 and May 2020 the Guild is hosting the 5X5 Series—events in each of the five boroughs to help the Guild understand issues affecting the region and to identify organizations, leaders, and artists to highlight during the conference program. 5x5 events include:

  • A professional development workshop focused on one of the following topics: Arts and Social Justice, Arts in Education, Creative Aging, Creative Youth Development, and Teaching Artist Development
  • A networking lunch
  • A town-hall style conference planning conversation
