This project is looking to engage Emerging or Sustaining CYD Local Networks, defined as:
Emerging CYD Networks: In the beginning process of forming a CYD community with member base that convenes to share and connect with each other around best practices and challenges.
Sustaining CYD Networks: Have formed a CYD community with member base (of any size), have drafted visions and goals, and convenes regularly to share and connect with each other around best practices and challenges.
APPLYING WITH INTERMEDIARY: Each CYD Network proposal must have a primary organization, consultant, or funder to act as an intermediary between their local CYD Network and the CYD National Partnership with capacity to support Blueprint implementation locally in their city. Intermediaries would be supported by the CYD National Coordinator in taking a lead role in providing advocacy and coordination assistance to their local network.
THE MOST SUCCESSFUL PROPOSALS:
Demonstrate a dedication to the core values of CYD—Youth Voice, Racial Equity, and Collective Action
Share at minimum a 1:1 leadership relationship between youth and adults in all aspects of planning and development, or a plan on how to work toward this goal of intentional and authentic youth involvement.
Demonstrate how the network incorporates a racial equity lens into its structure and work.
Use a collective action approach to supporting network members in base building that is transparent, collaborative, and non-competitive. This includes a CYD network that shares space with other members of different sectors (juvenile justice, mental health, education, etc.)
