Vision, Mission, and Values

Our vision, mission, and values articulate the foundation for our future as a leader in community arts education. Working closely with our board of trustees, members, and other stakeholders, the Guild updated its vision and mission in 2017 to better reflect our belief in the power of creativity and the arts to transform individuals and communities. We also clarified our core values to express our commitment to leadership, community, creativity, and equity.

We envision a nation where arts education is accessible and embraced as essential for human development and healthy communities.

To ensure all people have opportunities to maximize their creative potential by developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and advocating for community arts education.

We are dedicated to developing and supporting effective leaders who can empower people and organizations to work together to advance arts education.

We promote accessibility, inclusion, racial justice, and social change because the arts are fundamental to our humanity and a catalyst for equity.

We value the pursuit of creative processes that change lives, neighborhoods, communities, and inspire innovation for the public good.

We know that arts education fosters the discovery, mutual understanding, and connection between people and cultures.
