Five students from Sitar Arts Center's Documentary Film program recently participated in the first ever White House Film Symposium, hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama. The Symposium featured workshops and panel discussions on directing, costume design, lighting, and more. Actresses Whoopi Goldberg and Blake Lively, director Ryan Coogler, and Oscar-winning producers Harvey Weinstein and Bruce Cohen, among others, were in attendance. The Sitar students---Precious, RaSeph, Laith, Gabrielle and Leandra---took the opportunity to share their own work, introducing their recently released film, Doing it for Me.
