Recordings of all the sessions from Sphinx Organizaton's recent SphixCon: Empowering Ideas for Diversity in the Arts, are now available online. The recordings have been made possible through a partnership with Detroit Public Television.

SphinxCon, presented January 30 - February 1, 2015, in Detroit, MI, brought together leaders discussing solutions to the challenges surrounding diversity in the arts. Fourteen dynamic sessions from this gathering are now available to watch anytime. Examples of sessions currently available include:

  • Liveration vs. Assimilation: The Normalizing of Queer Art
  • Out of Place: How Does Creative Placemaking Impact Diversity and Inclusion?
  • Exploring the At-Risk Achievement Gap and Its Connection to Our Sector
  • A Chorus of Voices: Are Individual Diversity Programs Strengthened or Muted Through Collaboration

About Sphinx Overture
The Overture program delivers access to music education in Detroit and Flint, Michigan. Sphinx instructors hold beginning violin lessons for students in Flint and Detroit area schools. The lessons are free and violins are provided by Sphinx.
