The Music School of Delaware is the recent recipient of seven major grant renewals. Together, these significant contributions will bolster the school's financial aid scholarships, improve its technology base, and build its capacity to expand its reach into the broader community.

Combined gifts from the Longwood Foundation and the Laffey-McHugh Foundation represent over $200,000 and will assist the Music School's advancements in communications, community engagement, and fundraising efforts, all necessary to fulfill the school's mission of "music excellence for everyone", and its regional impact in the four-state area of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland.

Additionally, a renewed grant from the DuPont Company specifically benefits further delivery of the Music School's early childhood partnerships with area public schools.

Crystal Trust, Crestlea Foundation and Welfare Foundation have together provided $140,000 in grants earmarked for technology upgrades supporting school programs and operations. This includes new office computers, a new telephone system, new security cameras, a new piano lab, electronic equipment for The Studio: Jazz, Folk & Rock department, as well as instruments for the ever-growing Delaware Youth Symphony Orchestra.

The Music School also received a grant from The Sallie Mae Foundation in support of financial aid scholarships which will relieve financial barriers for families who wouldn’t otherwise have access to the benefits of music.
