On Friday, November 18, the Music Conservatory of Westchester hosted "Share the Light: Celebrating the Life of Carol Shiffman," a concert to pay tribute to their late executive director who lost her battle with breast cancer on October 24.  Her husband, Larry Harbison, had the following to say;

“One of the most pertinent things about her teaching was helping individuals discover their creative power. Regardless of what they did after that, young people would come and discover they could create. Later we would run into them and they would say it helped them do whatever it is that they did with their lives."

In honor of this commitment, the conservatory and Harbison have established The Carol Shiffman Fund to continue her work.

In this spirit of moving forward and recognizing the past, the Board of the Music Conservatory of Westchester announced the appointment of the current Dean of Students & Faculty, Dr. Jean Newton, to the position of executive director.
