The LUX Center for the Arts (Lincoln, Nebraska) has launched Art Van deLUX, an outreach initiative that makes art-making experiences available to anyone regardless of income, transportation, or physical disability.  Community donations and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts enabled the LUX Center to buy and retrofit the van, stock it with supplies, and hire teaching artists.  The Art Van deLUX has been able to work with eleven different elementary and middle schools, serving over three hundred low-income children.

The Art Van deLUX has been so successful that parent teacher organizations of the communities' wealthier schools have requested art classes, allowing the initiative to generate revenue that would not otherwise be available.  IN light of this success, the LUX Center has plans to work with larger businesses to provide Creativity Clinics, as well as private birthday parties, in order to generate additional revenue.
