Guild member KAIROS ALIVE! (formerly Kairos Dance Theater) and their Kairos dancing heart™ program will be featured in the new 2 part public television documentary, Arts & the Mind, airing on PBS stations across the U.S. and available streaming online after September 12 at

Hosted by Lisa Kudrow, the two-part Arts & the Mind special explores the crucial impact of the arts on the human brain across our lifetimes and reveals its particularly vital role in human development during youth and older age. The documentary demonstrates why one of America's leading Alzheimer's researchers advises that dance is the single most effective way to ward off dementia; and how the KAIROS dancing heart™ program, based in the Twin Cities, provides stimulation, inspiration and health benefits to those in nursing homes, adult day programs, community centers and other settings.

KAIROS ALIVE! is the new name of the former Kairos Dance Theatre, representing an expansion in vision for the Twin Cities non-profit arts and arts education organization. The mission of KAIROS ALIVE! is to transform and revitalize individuals and communities. We work with older adults in intergenerational settings to liberate the healing power of interactive dance and story. We achieve our mission by engaging the skills of professional teaching artists.
