Last week it was announced that Eileen Doyle has been appointed to the role of executive director of Young Audiences New York (YANY). In this role, Doyle will lead YANY in its ongoing collaboration with the New York City public school system to provide arts-based instruction to support learning in core academic subjects, including reading and math. Currently YANY services over 80 schools and institutions throughout the New York metropolitan  area with an array of arts education performances, teaching artist residencies, family programs, and professional development programs. Doyle will also be responsible for raising the visibility of YANY in the community and increasing donor support.

Robert Riesenberg, board president of YANY, said, "Charismatic, thoughtful, and inspiring, Eileen has the perfect blend of leadership skills to take YANY to new heights as we expand our influence in educating the students of New York."

Doyle added, "I am so excited about jumping into the great arts education work that Young Audiences New York does with kids across the city, in partnership with schools and community groups. Now more than ever, kids and schools need our help -- arts education offers so many opportunities for innovating education and lighting up the hearts and minds of kids. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to help Young Audiences New York make more great experiences happen for more of the kids who need us the most."

Doyle joins YANY after serving as vice president of program at the national headquarters of Girl Scouts of the USA. There, she worked in partnership with regional affiliates across the country to create high quality, measurable, experiential learning programs for girls. Doyle has also participated in key educational initiatives and events including: Social Innovation Challenge Awards (2013); Terry McAdam Book Award Review Committee for the Alliance for Nonprofit Management,  (2013); Social Think Tank on Innovation in Education at MIT (2012) and Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Summit (2011 & 2012).
