The Colburn School has named Lee Cioppa as dean of its conservatory of music, the school’s senior academic administrator, beginning on August 1, 2016. Ms. Cioppa comes to the Colburn School from The Juilliard School, and was selected as part of a national search for the position.

Colburn School Provost Adrian Daly said “We’re delighted to welcome Lee Cioppa to the Colburn School as dean of the conservatory. Throughout our extensive search process, Lee's leadership and experience reinforced her understanding and vision for the globally relevant music conservatory of the future, and I'm truly excited for the new opportunities that she will help to develop in the coming years with our faculty and leadership within the school.”

As dean of the conservatory, Ms. Cioppa will serve as a member of the academic administrative leadership, liaise with all areas of the school, and provide oversight of the academic direction of the conservatory and lead admissions efforts. Ms. Cioppa has served as the associate dean of admissions for The Juilliard School since 2003.
