Community Advocate, a news publication based in Massachusetts, recently highlighted Apple Tree Arts (Grafton, MA) for their summer theater productions.

“It was exciting for us to premiere our summer youth musical in the Grafton High School auditorium,” said Lisa Scarlett, theatre arts director. “The modern stage allowed us to use advanced technology and theatrical tools in the production.”

According to the Community Advocate, Apple Tree Arts’s production of “Hats! A Musical that Celebrates What’s Underneath,” which was performed with actors aged seven to eight, illustrated timely themes regarding equity and shared humanity.

“This play is a musical journey about friendship and self-value. The show starts at the top of your head and makes its’ way to the bottom of your heart,” said Shannon May, theatre arts faculty member.
