Musical America, in their December Special Report, named five leaders at National Guild member organizations as their 30 Professionals of the Year. The magazine honored Amit Peled, cellist and professor, Peabody Conservatory; Yehuda Gilad, music director, The Colburn School; Francisco J. Nunez, founder and artistic director, Young People’s Chorus of New York City; Yolanda Wyns, music program director, Harlem School of the Arts; and Afa Sadykhly Dworkin, president and artistic director, Sphinx Organization. National Guild executive director Jonathan Herman was also recognized.

According to Musical America, these individuals represent “influencers” in the field. They are “people who are making a difference in our business, either by virtue of their position, their creativity, and/or their dedication—folks about whom you could say ‘When they speak, we listen.’”
