Guild Welcomes Ten New Representatives to Members Council

« Back

Dec 06, 2012

The Members Council of the National Guild for Community Arts Education is pleased to welcome ten new representatives. These representatives were selected through a nomination process that took place throughout the summer of 2012. Representatives were chosen by a selection committee composed of Members Council representatives and advised by Guild staff.

Criteria for selection included experience in community arts education, ability to add discipline and geographic diversity to the current representation, and demonstrated personal dedication to the Guild's mission. We are thrilled with the robust leadership team that has been assembled and are sure these new representatives will enhance the work of the Members Council for years to come.

We are pleased to welcome:

  • Chris Anthony, Associate Artistic Director, The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA
  • Kathy Czerny, President, South Shore Conservatory, Hingham, MA
  • Bob Gilson, Director, 92Y School of the Arts, New York, NY
  • Cara Graninger, Co-Executive Director/Programs & Partnerships, Living Arts, Detroit, MI
  • Magda Martinez, Director of Programs, Fleisher Art Memorial, Philadelphia, PA
  • Greg McCaslin, Education Director, Roundabout Theatre Company, New York, NY
  • Robyne Walker Murphy, Director of Out of School Programs, DreamYard Project, Bronx, NY

  • Rick Sperling, Founder/CEO, Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, Detroit, MI

The Members Council fosters engagement and promotes communication among and between member organizations; promotes the work of the National Guild; engages in projects determined by Guild leadership; encourages the participation of current and prospective Guild members in Guild events and activities; and provides representation within the National Guild's organizational structure.
