The Teaching Artists Guild (TAG) has announced the launch of their membership program and their national advisory board.

TAG's new membership program provides services to support the personal and professional health of independent teaching artists. This program emerged from a 3-year study focused on exactly what teaching artists need to build and sustain their important work. With this membership program, TAG is emerging as the first of its kind professional association dedicated to teaching artists. TAG is offering two membership levels, Full Membership for independent teaching artists, and Allied Membership for administrators, managers, education directors, and others who hire, train and work with teaching artists.

TAG's newly established national advisory committee includes a group of individuals who are champions for teaching artists. This group joins TAG to help further the cause of artists working in education and in communities. Together, they have over 200 years of experience as teaching artists, not to mention some other complimentary advocacy and leadership skills. The advisory committee includes leaders from Guild member organizations, including:

TAG, a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives, is a member-driven organization committed to the professionalization and visibility of artists who teach. They are the voice of the teaching artist, communicating the depth and breadth of work that teaching artists provide our educational systems and communities.
