The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the U.S. Department of Education announced that the Education Commission of the States (ECS) will serve as the new host organization for the Arts Education Partnership (AEP). The details of this announcement, which can be found here, were outlined by Ayanna Hudson of the NEA and Doug Herbert of the U.S. Department of Education.

Referred to as a “cooperative agreement for administration,” the AEP and ECS will now work closely to carry out the 2020 Action Agenda for Advancing the Arts in Education.

The Arts Education Partnership is a national coalition of more than 100 education, arts, cultural, business, government, and philanthropic organizations. AEP is dedicated to securing a high-quality arts education for every young person in America. The Education Commission of the States was established 50 years ago and serves states by providing education policy research, reports, counsel, and convenings. ECS is a partner to state policy makers by providing personalized support and bringing states together to learn from one another.
