NEA to Host Free Conference Call on Combating Alzheimer's with Poetry & Storytelling

The National Endowment for the Arts' Task Force on the Arts and Human Development will host a conference call on May 13, 3:00PM - 4:00PM ET, on combating Alzheimer's with poetry and storytelling. Guest speakers will discuss how art programs can mitigate Alzheimer’s symptoms, share the latest research, and recommend ways to implement programs on the ground.

Guest speakers include:

  • Sunil Iyengar, Director, Office of Research & Analysis at the National Endowment for the Arts
  • Gary Glazner, Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Poetry Project 
  • Anne Basting, Founder and President of the TimeSlips Creative Storytelling Project 
  • Dr. Kate de Medeiros, Robert H. and Nancy J. Blayney Professor Gerontology at Miami University. 

The conference call is free and open to the public.
