NEA Accepting Applications for Art Works Grants

« Back

Jun 27, 2012

The National Endowment for the Arts has opened application for the next round of Arts Education: Art Works grants. This round is for School-Based Projects only. Applications are due August 9.

Art Works encourages and supports the following four outcomes:

  • Creation: The creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence
  • Engagement: Public engagement with diverse and excellent art
  • Learning: Lifelong learning in the arts, and
  • Livability: The strengthening of communities through the arts.

You will be asked to select the outcome that is most relevant to your project, and you also will be able to select a secondary outcome (note that all Arts Education applicants must choose the Learning outcome as their primary outcome).

School-based projects must be directly connected to the school curriculum and instructional program. Activities may take place in or outside of the school building at any time of the day, including after-school and summer enrichment programs formally connected to school curricula.

Projects must be based on a curriculum that aligns with either national or state arts education standards and include assessment of participant learning.

June 1, 2013 is the earliest beginning date for Arts Endowment period of support.
