This year's Americans for the Arts Annual Convention (June 12-15, Nashville, TN) is a can't miss event for those looking to advocate effectively for the role of art in the education of America’s youth. With a full preconference devoted to how to best advocate for arts education in the 21st century and a suite of sessions on arts education- and advocacy-related topics throughout the three days in Nashville, Americans for the Arts has packed the four days with what amounts to a master class on becoming the best arts education advocate you can be. Read the full pre-conference session description below. Register for the Annual Convention here.

Empowering Arts Education Advocates: Tools and Case Studies to Inspire Action
Come take part in this deep training experience designed to help participants understand the ins and outs of advocacy for arts education on a local level. Get inspired by the NEA’s Director for Arts Education Ayanna Hudson, Nashville councilmember Ronnie Steine, the head of Music Makes Us Laurie Schell, and a special site visit to the famed Pearl Cohn High School recording studio. And then get practical with a set of learning sessions to give you immediately-useable tools and resources to take back to your home communities. This is an awesome, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—don’t miss it!
