House Subcommittee Proposes Cut in Funding for the NEA

« Back

Jun 21, 2012

Today the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Subcommittee passed its FY 2013 funding legislation, proposing a $14 million cut to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This is a direct contrast to President Obama's proposal earlier this year to increase funding to the NEA by $8 million. That makes a disparity of over $22 million between President Obama's proposal and that of the House Subcommittee.

Funding for the NEA has already been cut more than $20 million over the past two years. Join us in contacting your members of congress today to tell them why funding for the arts is vital to your community. Americans for the Arts has created an easy to use custamizable form to help you advocate for the arts. Visit their website to make a statement today. Visit.
