The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA, in its section on Assistance for Arts Education, outlines the operation of an Arts in Education Program that, according to the law, “supports nationwide efforts to improve schools in and through the arts as part of a well-rounded education for all students.”

The Department of Education (DOE) has announced that, in 2017, the program will provide grants and technical assistance through three grant categories: Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination (AEMDD), Professional Development for Arts Educators (PDAE), and Arts in Education National Program (AENP).

Until January 9, stakeholders are invited by DOE to submit comments regarding the 2017 grant competition. You can send comments by email to: aiecompetition@ed.gov.
