Nov 14, 2016

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has announced that an upcoming special issue of the Early Childhood Research Quarterly will be edited by Melissa Menzer, program analyst in the NEA’s Office of Research and Analysis, and Dr. Adam Winsler, professor of applied developmental psychology at George Mason University.

The issue will seek empirical papers that advance public understanding of the potential value and impact of the arts on early childhood development (birth through age 8). Topics of interest include activities or interventions in art forms such as music, dance, drama, the visual arts, and literature; and domains of child development likely to be affected by arts participation, such as cognitive and academic, physiological and neurological, and social-emotional.

Submissions will be accepted via the publisher's submission portal between November 1, 2016 and February 1, 2017. For more information, view the full call for papers.
