Applications Open to Become PlayUSA Partner, Receive Funding

PlayUSA, a program supported by Carnegie Hall (New York, NY), offers financial and programmatic support to partner organizations across the country that extend the accessibility of high-quality instrumental music education programs to low-income and underserved K–12 students. Through PlayUSA, Carnegie Hall seeks to build capacity and share best practices by supporting partner organizations in the creation and meaningful expansion of programs that:

  • provide sustained high-quality music instruction in private, small-group, or ensemble settings to a diverse pool of talented and motivated students
  • place musical instruments in the hands of young people with limited ability to rent or purchase their own
  • support the professional development of teachers and teaching artists engaged in working with program participants


In the 2017-18 season, the program will offer $400,000 in grants. The online eligibility form will be available Wednesday, February 15  and the deadline for submission is Wednesday, March 22.

Carnegie Hall will hold a 30-minute online information and Q&A session on Wednesday, March 1 at 3 PM (EST) for organizations interested in submitting an eligibility form. You can RSVP for that session by sending an email here.
